A proud "native" of the Greater Houston area, Buerkie Klokpah, has lived in Houston since the age of six after her parents transition to the city from Gulf Coast Mississippi. A University of Houston graduate completing her Bachelor's in Accounting and Finance, Buerkie has long operated as a trusted advisor. As an astute accounting professional and audit consultant has allowed her to gain invaluable skills in providing timely, supportive, efficient and honest recommendations to clients. Her multicultural upbringing being raised by a Southern mother and Ghanaian father equally incorporate the importance of being charitable and welcoming.

 

She embraced a passion for Real Estate and made her entrance into Real Estate as a homeowner in her early 20s. Her other passion of restorative work on aging homes making places like Lowe's and Home Depot a second home for exploratory projects such as building furniture from reclaimed wood! She's expanded this passion through additional home acquisitions providing long term rental properties with a priority on equitable and high quality housing solutions. The emphasis is always ensuring clients have a memorable real estate experience.

Her entry into hospitality occurred after a trip to Ghana building a relationship with a short term rental AirBNB host that believed she would thrive in the hospitality space. Within a year, Buerkie was hosting overnight guests and operating as an AirBNB Superhost and hosting her home and other properties on other short term rental platforms for over 5 years. Naturally, Buerkie expanded to offering an event space centrally located in the city of Houston! Buerkie are worked intimately on campaigns by short term rental platforms, like AirBNB, advocating for diversity, equity and inclusion of hosts on their platforms for BIPOC.

Speaking of herself: "Although I tend to be quite introverted, I am always eager to connect with others in an intentional and meaningful way and that includes supporting others in meeting their goals and designing spaces that are functional and aesthetically pleasing. I'm honest, trustworthy and most importantly, I care! I believe I represent more than just myself and that my actions also affect those who believe in me. With that in mind, I take pride in everything I do, especially when it comes to representing someone else's interests. I value my character more than anything."

 

Buerkie is a licensed real estate professional in the State of Texas and member of Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan. Currently, she is pursuing her CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) license to continue to be a skill based asset for an array of clients and stakeholders. In her spare time, she is physically active with HIIT, exploring the city of Houston with family and friends or passionately involved in community centered efforts.
